Tornare a parlare ed ascoltare, davvero. L’Arte del Vangelo di questa settimana racconta per immagini la guarigione di un sordomuto operata da Gesù in territorio paganeggiante. Anche questo è un segno, nel modo che abbiamo descritto le volte precedenti. Ed è un segno che non separa umano e divino, e ha qualcosa da dire anche a quanti presumono di non avere bisogno di questa “guarigione”: nell’epoca della pervasività dei media, tv e social in particolare, siamo a volte sopraffatti e, più che agire, semplicemente reagiamo: come in un folle gioco al flipper, siamo la pallina che viene spinta ora di qua ora di là.
Back to speaking and listening, really. This week’s Art of the Gospel tells in images the healing of a deaf-mute performed by Jesus in pagan territory. This too is a sign, in the way we have described in previous times. And it is a sign that does not separate the human and the divine, and it has something to say even to those who presume they do not need this “healing”: in the era of the pervasiveness of the media, TV and social media in particular, we are sometimes overwhelmed and, rather than acting, we simply react: like in a crazy pinball game, we are the ball that is pushed now here, now there.
